Seville – the 2,200-year-old capital of Andalusia. Phoenician, Roman, Arabic, Spanish. This magnificent city is a beautiful testament to the melting pot that is European civilisation and definitely worth a closer look if you find yourself wandering Spain.
Cadiz is magnificently contained in a small area making a tour of the city incredibly easy to carry out. I was there earlier this year as part of my New Year’s road trip and found it to be a charming town on the Atlantic which was well worth the day trip.
Over the New Year, I travelled through 5 countries and 2 continents by crossing over from the European mainland to Africa. The crossing itself should have been a routine boat trip but it felt like a lot more.
In December, I wrote about my plans to go on a road trip for my New Year’s holiday. The reality did not disappoint as I drove, drank and ate my way across the Iberian peninsula for New Year!
A few months’ ago, just as the summer was peaking, I turned my mind to thoughts of a New Year’s holiday. It’s worth planning ahead, even if there are always some excellent last-minute deals to be had.
