  • Feminist walking tours of Prague

I've taken many delightful walking tours of Prague. I'm always interested in how tour guides position themselves in what is admittedly a crowded market. French-born resident Avril Huck has chosen a feminist perspective on Czech (and Prague) history as her USP.

  • Castle and chateau night

For those of you who haven't abandoned the city for a summer's break, there's a treat coming up on Saturday. • Lucy and Salem

National Museum Václavské nám. 68, Nové Město, Prague, Czech Republic

We used to think that an increase in brain size led to walking upright and "being human", but Lucy showed it's the other way round - walking upright led to an increase in our brains. Her remains are touring Europe for the first time and they started right here in Prague.

Between ancient scrolls and jade carvings, the curators have put together an incredible viewpoint on the Qing dynasty. I've missed this so far, but since the loan runs out at the end of 2025, I'd best hurry!
