Go for the drinks - mango margarita, mmm - but perhaps gloss over the food which isn't as authentic as it might seem. (A Mexican poke bowl? With beetroot? What in the name of chimmichunga is that supposed to be?).
I've always liked Stejkarna as a relaxed local steak house with good quality cuts of meat. I had no idea it was a chain and, unsurprisingly, the out of town ones are larger, more laid-back and have plenty of space for kids to run around.
With a stylish and mouth-watering set of instagram adverts, I had high hopes for La Medusa. I should be more sceptical of adverts. Don't get me wrong: the cocktails are imaginative and unique. The decor, atmosphere and (weirdly) red lit interior were not what I was expecting.
Cheap, and slightly grotty, Chinese or Asian restaurants seem to be everywhere in Prague and I do wonder how they manage to all stay in business. It's refreshing to find a Chinese place that provides a pleasant experience and great food.
I love the scandinavian-feel to their interior decor, lets you vicariously travel from your seat. Their great terrace, and location, means it's an amazing summer venue for alfresco dining.
Apart from the sumptuous Art Deco decor, the breakfast options weigh in at a quite reasonable 200-odd crowns which makes this place amazing value for the city centre.
It feels like I'm cheating - a coffee shop in a shop, really? The thing is, Swedish fashion chain ARKET didn't want a place that's just a place to park bored partners while shopalholics bounce off the walls of their elegant shop. There's great coffee, and a good selection of teas.
You'll go to RiBro for the ribs but you'll stay for the relaxed atmosphere and great food (not just ribs). They do a great selection of ribs but having succulent steaks as well as other items on the menu shows the kitchen's versatility. Best enjoyed with beer, obviously.
Čevapčiči are a key sign you're in the Balkans and as they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". I went to U Sedmi Koulí in the non-touristy part of Hradčany to indulge and wasnt disappointed. I can't speak to the rest of the menu though it looks authentic enough.
To succeed in the suburbs, you've got to have something people will come back for. Mo's focuses on cooking great quality surf and turf and I can see why they survived the pandemic with ease. Their steaks are delicious and they do a mean range of sauces to go with them too.
