The Bon Vivant guarantee

It’s important to know where you’re getting your information from. These are the rules I have for everything that goes into the Bon Vivant newsletter:

  1. Am I getting paid for these reviews or recommendations? No!
  2. How do I estimate the price point for restaurants? All prices are relevant as of time of writing. Broadly, “Moderate price” means it’s the price you’d expect to pay at a normal, non-fancy good restaurant. “Cheap and cheeful” is below that price, and “Expensive” is, obviously, more than the average.
  3. Is any one restaurant better than the other? This depends on you. Maybe you like sushi but don’t like Asian food. Maybe you only like Czech food. It really depends on you. I don’t give star ratings or grade the places. If they’re good enough, they’re on my site.
  4. What about the quality of the place? Details are correct as of time of publication. It’s possible some places close over time, or change their standards.

Having said all this, I’m not infallible.

If you disagree with something I say, let me know. Maybe your opinion is different, or maybe things have changed and I need to update my opinion.
